Cape Disappointment State Park. SW tip of WA, N of Astoria, OR and N of Columbia River. (right on the WA coast). Ran at about 7:15 a.m. Hard to get up early when camping and feel smoking and gross then to run 11 miles. However, it did go nicely. It was misty out but not rainy. Chilly at start but gradually got warmer when the sun finely decided to come out. Ran at our campsite to pizza stand, to North Jetty and back, then up a trail to The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center (that was one steep hill!) and back down, then to the boat launch, then to North Jetty and back, then back to campsites. I ran in the loop of every single campsite for more distance. It worked out perfectly on distance. I ended up right near our campsite, #55 when my distance was completed. My muscles were very sore from Fri run on the beach. My R ankle was especially sore, hard to run on! Other than that, slight L knee pain, minimal. Felt pretty good most of the way. Glad to be done though and take a hot shower!

All over the place this time, however there was a steep hill or two somewhere in the start-middle area, prob, where I had my high mileage.

Way to go Anya! I am jealous of your beach running! What did you guys do while you were camping? Was it a good campground? Do you recommend it? I want to go camping!

Also, I will be home Wednesday-Sunday this week so we should get a run in!

Thanks! It was a blast and so invigorating, beautiful! We did some exploring at some museums and forts. Fort Stevens military fort, Lewis and Clark museum and fortress. Didn't have time to do the shops in Astoria but took a look at the beaches. Long beach and a few others. Weather was bad though on Saturday, took a nap and played Rook later on! We all had fun and ate good food! It is a nice campsite to stay at, right on the beach! It's a big campground with lots of sites. :0)

Would love to go for a run while you will be back in town. I will have to keep you posted. This Thur is our anniversary, might go out of town one night but not sure. But either Sat or Sun a.m. we should do a long run with the group. How does that sound?
