Lake Wilderness/Cedar River run. 7:30 a.m. Met at Lake Wilderness Lodge. This time Nicole joined the group. We took up the rear of the group because they all seem so much faster pace than us. But we enjoyed having eachother to run with. It is a hot day today and expected to reach 90s I believe. Luckily the trail was shaded most of the day except maybe the last 4 miles. We ran out to end of trail and met up with rest of the group; they waited. Then ran with Val (asian lady) on the way back. She is into ultra runs and 100-150 m runs. We were both amazed by her! We went to the area where you get onto Wilderness trail and decided not to tackle the hill so we ran back the same route about 2 miles +. I started to feel very tight in my muscles and lack of energy. Nicole gave me some of her Chococholate mint goo. I also had an electrolyte pill and dried apricots. I drank all my water too. Finally the last 2 miles I had a bit more energy. Nicole went ahead of me because she was shooting for 18  miles and a bit faster pace. You go girl! Amazing! I was just so happy to be done with the long run. We walked about 2 miles after up the hill and back to the lodge. Good run!

Way to go Anya! You rock! My garmin had that same funny max, it made me laugh. It must have lost signal at some point!

oh that's true, I didn't even think that could have happened. I just assumed I was running pretty slow on one of the miles.

I meant that max of 4:33! Because there is NO WAY we were EVER running a 4:33 mile! :-)
