Paradise, CA. 5:49 a.m. We had to start a little earlier a.m. because we were planning to run the semi long run this morning before Dad goes to work. Ran from home to PHS and on track and back. I carried water bottles this time and had an energy bar before hand and during for extra push. I was not feeling as great this morning. I felt fine until about mile 6ish and then my L knee started to hurt. It was not bad at first but then gradually got worse until had to just walk. I sure hope it is not going to be a major problem! I ran about almost 7 miles on track. Then half mile to the track. I had to walk home. I iced it and been trying leg exercises. I won't run tomorrow at all or do any strenuous activities. It was very frustrating for me not to finish the 10 miles I was hoping to run:( Pain seemed to be more right below the knee cap this time and more inside versus outside. Didn't feel like the IT band this time.

Oh no! Go away knee pain! At least last time this happened you know it went away. My ITB actually is flaring up a little too, because of Hood to Coast. Maybe its from all the track running? Which direction were you running and which leg is it? Maybe give up the track for awhile?

I know, go away knee pain...this is not what I need right now at all....I was doing fine until Wed. My knee still bothers me but I will see if I want to run tomorrow or not. Yeah maybe the track is not the best. HOwever my dad and I rotate directions, 1 mile one direction and then next mile the other way so it seems like it would help. I am using my older shoes not sure if that has an effect....It is my L leg and pain is on the inside this time...Hope your ITB is doing okay. YOu need to let me know how Hood to Coast went!

How many miles are on your shoes? Might be time for some new ones? Yeah the track should be fine if you're alternating directions. So then I have no idea. Strengthen those quads and outer quads! That's all I got. :-)

Hood to Coast was AWESOME. You should do it if you ever can! Read my blog, and also read Rachael's blog (see under my Favorite blogs). I also posted a bunch of pics to facebook. It was so fun!

Oh yeah lots of miles on my shoes: I've been running on them for about a little under a yr so I bought new ones. I just didn't take them down to Paradise with me bc i thought I"d be mainly doing trail runs and din't want to ruin my new shoes i bought. Bad mistake. Then we ended up staying a week longer so I need my newer shoes:( Yeah I"ll work on strengthening my quads, good idea!

I will read about your blog! Congrats!
